Because You Just Can’t Plan For Everything…

Congrats, Kaylee Ryan! Unexpected Reality is LIVE and OUTSTANDING! I was thrilled to receive an advance review copy of this book, and oh my wow! Talk about a melt-your-panties hot hero. And the story? I cried…huge crocodile tears…while sunning myself at the pool. I was a blubbering mess. I love it when a book does that to me. Check out my review below. <3

My Review

I adored the story of Kendall and Ridge! It is an incredibly heartwarming tale that elicited so much emotion with each flip of a page. I shed some serious tears while reading, and I loved that the words affected me so deeply. Kaylee Ryan has, yet again, masterfully created a delicious, swoon worthy hero who made my insides melt and a strong, independent heroine who becomes his perfect counterpart. A definite must-read!

Don’t miss this amazing story!

Recipe For A Startup Romance

If you saw my last post “Wanna Learn How To Start A Startup?” you know that running a startup is pretty much a 24 x 7 gig, which begs the question, are there any slivers of time in a given day dedicated to dating and romance? I mean, even entrepreneurs need love, right?

Interesting and intriguing questions, considering I’m a romance author and I basically create love stories out of circumstances that wouldn’t ever materialize in reality.  I can make anything happen…to anyone…and find the perfect resolution for all to end happily.

But in the real world, things aren’t so simple. They can’t be handled with a few clicks on a keyboard and a couple of glasses of wine.

The Truth About Entrepreneurship And Dating

I read about a company called Underground Attached, a unique dating experience that brings together 40 (20 men and 20 women) prescreened, like-soul and like-minded people for an evening of play (no, get your minds out of the gutter) and hopefully, a few love connections. Put a roomful of driven, ambitious professionals together and hopefully, sparks will fly…as long as they can stay off their iPhones, Galaxies and CrackBerries long enough to exchange business cards.

39 Signs You’re Dating An Entrepreneur

Sounds good in theory.  Of course, if all else fails, they could also find solace in using my brilliant app idea to build their own virtual reality porn star and their own…well, read the post if you can’t figure it out.

Maybe entrepreneurs should look at potential mates as prospective “investors.” You want someone who will support your goals and help drive you to achieve, someone who understands what it takes to be a success and will be patient waiting for the big returns.

Unrequited Love…At Three Years-Old?!

My two little boys are obsessed with girls.

Cooper is marrying Gracie and George is in love with Juliet.

What the heck is going on here???  They’re 3 and 4!!!!

Just as an aside, Lulu is 8 and has yet to utter a sweet word about a boy.  I hear about how rude and yucky and annoying they are, but the desire to marry any of them?  Ah, no, nothing along that front, thank goodness!  Not ready for that one!

My dad laughs and often says he didn’t know what PLANET he was on until he was 8.  Yet somehow, these guys are goo-goo eyed…and sometimes that leads to D-R-A-M-A!

Just this morning, George and I were chatting as I changed his diaper (because I can’t get my act together enough to commit to potty-training…argh!  Please don’t judge me!).  I asked him which little girl in his class is his favorite.

The name that emerged was “Doo-eee-ett.”

Hmmm.

If I didn’t know he had a girl in his class named “Juliet”, I’d be scratching my head.  But I do, so I didn’t.  =)

Now here’s the thing.

Another little cutie in the class has him in her sights.  Unrequited love at the tender age of 3!?

And forget that we don’t know if Juliet is even aware that my little Don Juan is alive!

I’m SO not ready to deal with this!

It’s Not Really A Party Unless You’re Defending Your Living Room Against The Chitauri

Today is full of hearts and love and happiness but it goes beyond the celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Three years and a few weeks ago, I made a call to make February 14 George’s birth date.  I hated the idea, but didn’t have a lot of options.  C-sections are no joke and anyone within her right mind is going to pick a date when the best doctor in the practice is on duty.  That date happened to be Valentine’s Day.

I eventually warmed to the idea, convinced I was having a girl.  She’ll love her birthday!  And we’ll name her Mia Valentina!  How cute would that be?  I embraced the day, rolling into the hospital clad in a red velour sweatsuit.  But alas, I had a boy, a perfect, precious darling little guy.  And I guarantee HE won’t appreciate sharing his special day with Cupid in a few years.

But right now, George is content to share it with his fellow Avengers, Captain “Cooper” America and Lulu the Black Widow.  Cake, costumes, shields, presents and defense of our home against the Chitauri.  Life cannot possibly get any more grandiose for this three year-old.

As for our Valentine’s Day celebration?  Well, we can just table the romance for AFTER the kiddies go to bed.  =)
